3 SIMPLE WAYS TO MAKE YOUR INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT STAND OUT

Oh the wonderful world of social media photorazzis. Yes, I just randomly came up with that word. With over 300 Million people in the world and 200 million of them actively photobombing on Instagram daily, you're missing out on tons of potential collabs and business if you're not trying to catch a few eyeballs.

In the last few months, I've personally been re-branding and making greater moves to keep things fully consistent across my online mediums. Not just for my business but also for the sake of sanity.

The goal is to be minimal so when it came time for me to begin the new look for my Instagram account, these 3 things stood out most from lady creatives I admire most. They are all very eye-catching and I'll surely be taking a few notes from them.

1. BIZ MEET PLEASURE
I have a great love for Instagram accounts that give a great balance between business life and life outside of work. The lovely ladies, Lauren and Zakkiyyah, of @blackgirlinom have manicured their account beautifully. They're fairly new but have already taken social media by storm with all their wonderful vibes..

Their holistic wellness craft as shared in their photos alongside very appealing imagery of nature, great people, and food really makes for a great place to randomly view just because you can feel the amazing energy through every inch of their photos. Check them out on IG here.

2.  CREATE A PUZZLE
Chloe Watts, Fashion Technologist and founder of @chloedigital is super great at this. Her design account showcases great uniformity with what I call the 'puzzle'. The photo grid is also pretty popular to do as well.

With the puzzle, she created the idea of posting a text-based image of either (quote, design, or blogging tip), then sharing an actual photo behind the scenes photo of her working, a #theFEEDhighlights feature where bloggers share their mobile blog feed themes she creates, or a photo she found chic from Pinterest, then another text-based image once more. Check her out in IGs here and here.

3. MORE WHITE SPACE
I thought this was pretty cool. We love white space right? It's easy on the eyes, refreshing, and super clean - great for anyone seeking to keep things "open" and breathable. Nicole Walters, an award-winning natural hair blogger, is a great example of this. Her account at @napturalnicole recently took on this method of using more white area to create a more "lattice" space. The desktop version does no justice so be sure to view her profile via the mobile app.

Her method of choice is to post in sets of 4 - A paid/sponsored/product images on the left row, the center photos are selfies/natural hair posts, and images to the right are her lifestyle/personal images. She uses the SquareReady + Diptoc apps. Y ou can also simple place a white border around all of your images to achieve the same look. Check her out on IG here.

Isn't her smile just to die for?!!
